Oddwood Shadow

The darker side of fairy tales, with twisted plots and gothic settings.

The oldest fairy tales were never gentle. Oddwood Shadow is where they live: dark fantasy, folk horror and gothic retellings for adults, where a bargain is a bargain, the woods keep what they take, and the darkness is survivable, mostly because of who you face it with.

The first Shadow titles are being finished now. Until they arrive, the Almanac has notes on the old tales behind them, and the Letters will tell you the day the first one lands.

What is coming

Retellings of the tales the nursery tidied up: the stepmothers, the bargains, the doors you were told not to open. Gothic houses that remember, villages that keep their own customs, and a few stories from older European woods. Expect dread rather than gore, and endings that close like a door.
